Dave Hampton is recognized for his expertise in the field of Audio Recording, Production, and Technical Design. Through his company MATK Corp. he maintains a reputation for creating unique solutions for various artists and excellent client satisfaction. Hampton is trusted and called upon by some the entertainment industry’s biggest stars. In his role as technical consultant, Dave has been pivotal in supporting the production, and engineering of projects for many artists across all genres of music. His client list includes: Lady Gaga, Prince, Herbie Hancock, M.I.A., Maxwell, Justin Timberlake, Babyface, Marcus Miller, RZA, Rafael Saadiq, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Besides designing, consulting, writing, collegiate lectures and appearances, Dave also sits on the Advisory Council of the Producers and Engineers Wing of NARAS (The Grammy Organization), and serves on the advisory board of several colleges and universities across the country. He and his wife Lisa are on the Host Committee of the Jackie Robinson Foundation Jazz on the Grass event.
He is currently working on his third book. The latest book release, The Business of Audio Engineering is NOW AVAILABLE in stores and online and is mandatory text for several audio programs around the country.
Dave is also the Director of the Measurable Deliverables Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) that focuses on supporting the efforts of groups and individuals that are effecting change in their community. It also supports education of the Arts. One of the most utilized MDF programs is the Audio Gear Recycling program. Companies and individuals make a tax-deductible donation of used gear to the Foundation and then MDF revives and gifts the gear to audio programs and/or individuals who are aspiring to a career in Audio.
